A 2.2 mile walk around the park and family picnic to raise funds for Beyond Shelter and homesless families in Los Angeles. Teach your kids to give back at a young age!
After learning that Los Angeles has the largest number of homeless families in the country, Nicole and Joel wanted to help. Through their Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation, last year they produced a holiday party for the children in Beyond Shelter programs; they were wonderful hosts at Beyond Shelter’s 20th Anniversary Celebration; and now they are hosting the Walk-in-the-Park & Family Picnic.
Last month, Nicole and Joel launched their “Text CHILD to 90999” campaign to raise funds to build a playground for Beyond Shelter from $5 text message donations. To date, they’ve raised $15,000 from donors across the country. Nicole and Joel have partnered with Beyond Shelter for the long-term, not only raising funds but interacting with the kids and families on a heartfelt level to help make their lives better.
